The purpose of this site is to evaluate health and fitness trends from an evidence-based perspective. When possible, personal experiences and even a faith-based perspective will be included. I have been fascinated with health and fitness since an early age.
As a master’s prepared registered nurse working in healthcare for nearly 20 years, both the hospital and community settings, I have seen my share of pain and suffering.
My goal become one of learning about health, wellness and lifestyle interventions. This goal was intensified after watching a family member suffer with an avoidable disease that ultimately cost him his life. Many people will likewise suffer preventable pain or lost years due to lifestyle and habits.
I hope to share what I have learned and continue to learn about health and fitness from a realistic, practical standpoint. With so much information, much of it contradicting, it can be confusing which path to follow. There are plenty of ideas, but what does the science say? Trending health and fitness interventions will be evaluated against available research.

Finally, many of these interventions are easily accessed and can be tried with little cost. When possible, I will share my own experiences. Further, I believe that we have been created by an intelligent designer. Scriptures frequently reference truths for mental and physical well-being. When applicable, I will provide a scriptural perspective. Ultimately, we all have to face our mortality.
For the years we have been granted, however, live well!
